Sexual Assault Services
Rape and Sexual Assault are major life crises that interrupt and influence your normal life at home, at work, at school, with friends, family, and co-workers. We are here to help you begin to work through the many emotions and concerns you may experience. We are here to help you understand the facts srrounding sexual assault and how you as a survivor can begin the recovery process.
Counseling: We offer issue oriented, individual counseling for victims of sexual assault. Call for an appointment. We are generally able to see you within one day of your phone call, and often are available the same day. We make every attempt to accommodate your availability, if you need to be seen at a certain time/day let us know.
Sexual Assault Forensic Exam: The forensic exam is performed by specially trained nurses to gather evidence which may be used in prosecution if the victim presents to the hospital within 96 hours of a sexual assault.
Case Management: Our case management department exists to help ease the many needs you may be facing. Our services include, but are not limited to; housing and employment assistance, Department of Social Services assistance, help accessing medical providers, and assistance accessing other necessary services. Everyone’s situation is different and therefore what we can help with varies greatly from person to person. Please call with any questions.
What to do if you are raped…
- Go to a Safe place
- Do not shower, bathe, urinate, douche, or brush your teeth
- Save all clothing from the assault
- Do not disturb the crime scene
- Seek medical help at the hospital
The decisions are yours to make:
- You do not have to report to law enforcement to receive help.
- We can accompany you to medical services or to report the crime if you choose to do so.
- We can discuss your options and available resources.
